After checking out of the first Hotel Jen, we weren’t quite done with our time in Singapore, so we headed over to the newly renovated Hotel Jen Tanglin, a stylish and modern instagrammable hotel catered towards urban adventurers and located at the end of the famous Orchard Road. Upon entering the Hotel Jen Tanglin, I immediately noticed the ambience of the hotel with all the unique and stylish art, furniture, decor and exhibits all geared around bicycles and travel. There was a joyful exhibit of hanging bicycles on a wall in the lobby, a map of other travelers recommendations on food, sites, and activities all around the country, a bicycle as a table and even bicycles for rent in front of the hotel! As per our other stays with Shangri-La Hotels, the staff was truly tremendous and super helpful not only at check-in but throughout out entire stay at the Hotel Jen Tanglin.
The Hotel Jen Tanglin has recently undergone a 45 million dollar renovation and is quite large. It houses 565 rooms and suites, an outdoor pool area, fitness center, spa, shuttle service, dining and bar spaces, just to name a few. Our room at the Hotel Jen was so hip and I absolutely loved all the stylish decor, impressive city views and special touches throughout the room. Something that I hadn’t quite seen before and what I thought was extra special was the handy smartphone that was left for us to use during our stay. Not only could we use it throughout the hotel, but also while we were out and about exploring the city! Seeing as we hadn’t purchased data for our month long trip, it was a really welcome delight during our explorations. You could make unlimited calls to the USA, have access to the internet and a city guide wherever you went and book tickets for activities or shows around the city. Talk about convenient!
By this time, we only had 24 hours left in Singapore, so we had decided to spend the entire 24 hours awake, hanging at the hotel and exploring the city some more! Firstly, we grabbed some delicious Singaporean popsicles from the restaurant and bikes from out front of the hotel and rode to the Singapore Botanical Gardens. It was such a lovely ride and the gardens were absolutely beautiful to walk through in person! We eventually made our way to the Marina Bay Sands Trees for pictures and then explored one of the many malls in the area. Also, right nearby was a casino that we made our way to to try our luck at the slots. A few more stops at the museum, Chinatown for dinner, Little India for shopping, and karaoke to round out our explorations, we eventually headed back to the hotel. We made our way to the lounge for some welcome drinks and back to our room where we put our feet up after a long almost 24 hours and called down to the hotel’s robot butler, Jena, for some room service! Our food even came in bio-degradable containers making my love for Singapore grow even more. My favorite part about both of our stays in Singapore were the robots, Jeno and Jena. They were always so helpful and prompt with their delivery services, and did I mention, insanely cute?!
A couple minutes of rest, a quick dip in the pool, and some coffee and tea in the executive lounge, and we headed to the hotel restaurant for a delicious breakfast before we had to take off for the airport! The breakfast buffet was so divine, and had so many different choices to choose from, giving a little something to everyone! The staff was quite helpful in taking care of us and making sure we were leaving to get to the airport in time! We absolutely loved our very wonderful and quick stay at Hotel Jen Tanglin. This is a hotel I hope we can come back to visit one day very soon and stay longer at! For all my Instagram and stylish friends out there, if you’re headed to Singapore, stop over at Hotel Jen Tanglin for some awesome photo ops and an amazing stay at a new and gorgeous hotel!
