This spot has been on my life list for quite awhile now. So when I took a spontaneous solo birthday adventure in San Fran this past weekend, I knew I couldn't miss an opportunity to find this swing! Whoever put this swing up, deserves a Ghiradelli ice cream sundae on me, because it really made for a memorable trip. Incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge right on the water while swinging? Need I say more?
I love searching for secret spots like this one while exploring new cities. Sometimes hard to find, but I guess that's why they're called "secret." And when I do find them, it feels like I accomplished something that much greater! Occasionally I will hit up the touristy spots depending where I am, but I mostly try and wander to the unknown, making for some pretty epic adventures, moments and stories. This swing while somewhat known, was no exception! I had looked up that this little gem was located in Kirby Cove Campground but wasn't completely sure on how to get to the swing spot. After taking a few wrong turns, I finally managed to find this magnificence. Since it was right before sunset, there were maybe about 5 people waiting to swing, but I was able to get a substantial amount of time swinging and acting childish in, which was good with me! If you're heading here, be sure to go early in the morning if you want the place to yourself, but really any time is magical.
